Introduction

Founded by the Society of Jesus, a Christian Religious Order, St. Xavier's College is administered by a Governing Body. Admission is open to all irrespective of caste and creed. However, as a Christian minority institution, Christian candidates will be given certain preference.

 

Subjects Offered

A. In the application form, candidates are required to mention ONE SUBJECT studied at the Graduation level or at the Post Graduation level (whichever is the highest) from amongst the subjects listed below.

Eligibility

  • Minimum qualification for applying is a graduate degree. Only the candidates who have completed the graduate degree and has obtained the final results are eligible to apply.
  • 50% marks in bachelor or Master Degree for General Category and 45% for Reserved Categories.
  • Candidates presently undergoing Master Degree (PG course) are not eligible to apply.
  • Maximum age limit is 40 years as on 1st July 2022 for freshers.
  • Besides a good academic record, candidates must have:
    1. Studied at least one subject offered in the B.Ed. course either at the Graduation (with at least 300 marks) or at the Post Graduation level.
    2. Commerce students can also apply for Economics method provided they have studied Economics with at least 100 marks at the Graduation or at the Post Graduation level.
    3. A good command and fluency in English, both spoken and written.

Procedure for Application

  1. The online application forms will be available in the College Website from 12th April 2:00 p.m.
  2. Application forms are to be filled in & submitted online through the college website www.sxccal.edu on or before 31st May 2022, 3pm. The online application forms will be available in the College Website from 12th April 2:00 p.m.
  3. Ensure to take a printout of the filled in application form along with the payment receipt and acknowledgement sheet after successful online submission.
  4. The application will be registered for further processing only after the payment of the Application Fee. The Application Fee of Rs. 1000/- must be paid online according to the following payment options: Online by using Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking through the College Website, following the successful submission of the online application
  5. Do not submit the application form or the payment receipt to the College office prior to the interview.
  6. All relevant documents along with the form and payment receipt need to be submitted at the time of interview.
  7. The list of candidates selected for interview will be published through the College website.
  8. The selected candidates need to follow the instructions published with the selection list for appearing in the interview.
  9. Further information related to selection and interview will be available on the College Website on 9th June at 3:00 p.m.
  10. In case of any false or wrong information and/or concealment of any information in the application form will lead to cancellation of the candidature and admission.

 

Selection

  • Candidates will be shortlisted for the Interview based on academic performance. The interview will be based on Subject Knowledge, Communication Skill, General Knowledge and Overall Impression.

  • The final selection will be based on academic performance and the performance in the interview

Documents Required at the time of Interview

  1. The filled in online application form and the acknowledgement sheet.
  2. Application Fee payment receipt.
  3. All academic & co-curricular documents, the admit card of interview.
  4. Age verification certificate (admit card of class X).
  5. University registration certificate.
  6. Certificate for reserved category.
  7. Disability certificate for differently abled candidates.
  8. Baptism certificate for Christian candidates and a letter from the Parish Priest.
  9. For deputed candidates
    1. Approval of DI of schools.
    2. Photocopy of M.C. Resolution countersigned by DI/ADI.

(Duly attested Photocopies of all documents to be submitted and originals to be presented for verification).

 

N.B.:

  1. The original migration certificate should be submitted within 10 days of admission, failing which, the admission will be automatically cancelled.
  2. At the time of admission, deputed candidates need to submit M.C. resolution in original countersigned by DI / ADI.
