General Information:
Department of Management Studies, with the aim to provide standard of excellence in order to encourage students to integrate with the global community, was established in 2002 with BBA course. The department aspires to be a department of global excellence in the field of management to produce highly qualified and value-oriented managers. The department is known as BMS because of change in nomenclature following the University Grants Commission template on Under Graduate courses under Choice Based Credit System and approved by the University of Calcutta. It is effective for students enrolled from the academic session 2017-18.
The department has been granted AICTE approval for under graduate course in Management Studies with effect from July 2024.
Course Highlights:
The BMS department has successfully implemented the syllabus in accordance with the NEP (National Education Policy) from 2023-2024 academic year, focusing on multidisciplinary education, skill enhancement, and flexibility in course choices. The program is unique given the core values it imparts in terms of Intellectual Depth, Leadership Skills, and Social Responsibility. St. Xavier's approach to management education aims at the holistic formation of future leaders with unmatched professional competence and a strong ethical perspective.
Course Objective:
The aim of the B.M.S. program is to offer high quality education in management and prepare students to
· Pursue higher education in management
· Join industry, business, and non-profit organizations
- Provide an understanding of doing business internationally with a blend of entrepreneurship

4:00 pm to 8:05 pm (Classes are held in Campus)
Admission criteria for the academic session 2025-2026:

A candidate may be admitted to the course provided he/she has passed the Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) course conducted by the West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education, or an equivalent examination, recognized as such, by the University of Calcutta, in all the recognized subjects (of full marks not being less than 100) including English and Pure Mathematics / Business Mathematics / Statistics / Applied Mathematics, subject to the fulfilment of the following other conditions.

No candidate shall be eligible for admission after a lapse of more than five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination. The year of admission will not be taken into account while calculating five years from the year of passing the previous qualifying examination.

Prospective candidates seeking admission to the course will have to appear for an entrance examination. The entrance examination will be of one-hour duration comprising of Multiple-Choice Questions of fifty marks.
The mode of selection will be on the basis of the following weightage:
1. Qualifying Examination (Class XII) (WBHS / ISC / CBSE / State Boards etc.) 50%
2. Entrance Examination of full marks 50.

Rules / Guidelines of the Admission Test:
- Candidates are advised to enter the examination centre at least 30 minutes before commencement of the test.

Carry the following
documents to enter the examination centre.
- A hard copy of Acknowledgement Card (original). Photograph pasted on the Acknowledgement Card should be duly attested by the Principal / Headmaster of the last school attended.
- A hard copy of Paid Bank/ Online payment slip (original).
- Any valid photo identity proof in original such as Aadhaar card/ Pan Card/ Passport/ Voter ID card.
- No candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall beyond the schedule time of commencement of the test under any circumstances.
- Candidates are not allowed to carry Calculator, Smart watch and any communication device like Mobile/ Smart phone etc. inside the examination hall. Any candidate found with such items will be reported against and his/her candidature will be cancelled.
- No candidate can leave his/ her seat without permission of the invigilator until the test is over.
- Parents / Guardians are not allowed inside the College campus.
